This appropriation of Hokusai’s Kirifuri Waterfall at Kurokami Mountain in Shimotsuke (Shimotsuke Kurokamiyama Kirifuri no taki), from the series A Tour of Waterfalls in Various Provinces (Shokoku taki meguri) is made of multiple panels, each panel is built by the repetition of a single speech act. In this case a series of benedictions or blessings.
