This broadside depicts two versions of the only equestrian bronze statue to have survived from antiquity. The stepped bases elevate the monument so it can be seen above the crowds and to protect it from the very same crowds. These steps also form a natural sitting area that orient the viewer’s body away from the monument. In the second version, the monument turned inside out; the resulting form would now make the pubic sit as if in a theater.
