MATERIALS: Handbells, musical score, plywood.
This piece is made of a Fractured Melody. Upon walking through the museum the viewer encounters low pedestals full of hand bells. All the hand bells together form a song. Meaning, for each note in the melody, there is a hand bell. Viewers are allowed pick up the bells and play them. Theoretically there is a slim chance that the actions of the public may reconstitute the melody.
