Eternal Flame, 2020

MATERIALS: Five bbq grills, steel, wood, concrete, fire, smoke, and park users grilling.

This is a monument in the form of a five way communal grill and imagines the fire its users kindle for grilling as both a symbolic and real eternal flame – there is always a lit cooking flame somewhere on this globe. Additionally this proposes that cooking culture is an eternal flame, enduring in communities for generations, over vast distances. ‘Eternal Flame’ grills are open for public use during Socrates Sculpture Park’s open hours.
